Latrobe Valley Community Projects
The Latrobe Valley Four Wheel Drive Club participates in a number of community projects
Some of the Activities we have participated in over the last few years are:
Camp Host Program
Rural Reponse Group
Track Classification
Tree Planting
Track Clearing
Camp Host is a program which was developed by the Four Wheel Drive Advisory Committee, comprised of members of Four Wheel Drive Victoria, Parks Victoria and the Department of Sustainability & Environment. This program has been used by different organisations in the past to regulate popular campsites, discourage negative behaviour and educate campers about environmentally sustainable camping practises.
Visitors to a camp host site will be given information regarding environmental awareness and education which they can take away with them and utilise on future trips.
Not only is this a great excuse for a weekend out camping, it is thourghly enjoyable spending time assisting fellow four wheel drivers with their travels.

In response to the devastating bushfires that ravaged our local area in January 2009 the club assisted the community of Darlimurla in the clean up effort. Rural Response work has been very rewarding with the club assisting in the removal of over 7 kms of fencing, clearing trees and cutting firewood for fire affected people.
